8-Week Tabletop Gaming Club Plan (some games are subject to change) 

Week 1 – Welcome & Quick Games

    •    Main Game: Sushi Go! – easy card drafting, everyone learns quickly.

    •    Filler Game: LLAMA 

    •    Activity: Make “Player Profiles” – kids write their gamer nickname and favorite types of games, make badges and share relevant information on a club board.

Week 2 – Teamwork Challenge

    •    Main Game: Forbidden Island – cooperative game where kids work together to save treasures.

    •    Filler Game: Spots

    •    Activity: Reflection round: What worked best for teamwork? Do we work well as a team. Create a team flag and mascot

Week 3 – Strategy & Planning

    •    Main Game: Kingdomino – quick to learn, encourages spatial strategy.

    •    Filler Game: Qwirkle

    •    Activity: Kids draw their “dream kingdom” tiles after playing.

Week 4 – Creative Storytelling

    •    Main Game: Dixit – imaginative storytelling with picture cards.

    •    Filler Game: Imagidice or Fake Artist

    •    Activity: Collaborative story session → one sentence per player around the table. Make a couple of story boards to match the story you tell together

Week 5 – Tournament Day (Quick Games)

    •    Main Games: cat lady 

    •    Filler Game: Happy Salmon (energetic, silly in between rounds).

    •    Activity: begin to plan a board game using crafts from previous week. Assign tasks to do over the half term break. Don’t forget them after half term!

Week 6 – Bigger Adventure

    •    Main Game: Labyrinth 

    •    Filler Game: Get the MacGuffin

    •    Make a dice storage box & rolling tray in 1

Week 7 – Build Your Own Game

    •    Main Game: Full Design Day! – kids work on the game they have been planning. Making component parts and rule writing. 

    •    Filler Game: Taco Cat

    •    Activity: play test games and see how they can be improved - made to work

Week 8 – Club Showcase & Family Night 

    •    Main Games: Kids vote for their favorite games from the program.

    •    Filler Games: Quick ones set up on side tables for free play.

    •    Activity: Certificates for participation + “Game Master Awards” (kids who taught games well, great teamwork, etc.)

This plan balances cooperative, competitive, creative, and strategic play so every type of kid gets to shine.
